St. Vincent and the Grenadines is truly blessed
with the natural beauty and pristine ecology of
its environment. It has lush rainforests, a volcano,
waterfalls, tropical flowers, plantations, white
sand beaches, stunning coral, brightly colored fish,
dolphins, whales, deserted islands and islets and
of course crystal clear waters.
It is the undiscovered Caribbean, uncommercialised,
undeveloped and unspoiled.
No other country in the Caribbean offers so much.
We have put together a package to enable nature
lovers to explore for themselves some of the natural
wonders of this region. From the forest covered
slopes of a 4000ft volcano to pristine underwater
reefs of a National Marine Park.
Part 1 - St. Vincent
Spend an active 3/4 days exploring the lush rainforests
and tropical beauty of the volcanic island that
is St. Vincent. While here you will have the option
of:
Climbing through the rainforest up to the top of
La Souffriere an active volcano that dominates the
north of the island. Your guide will identify flora
and foliage en route to the rim at 4000ft above
sea level. Views of the smoldering cauldron and
surrounding islands are awe inspiring. A remarkable
testament to the power of Mother Nature.
Hike through the rainforest to Trinity Falls. A
series of waterfalls cascading into one an other.
Have a swim in the cool and refreshing pool beneath
the falls before hiking back out.
Take a trip up the spectacular leeward cost of
the Island to the Falls of Baliene, accessible only
by boat. These 60-foot falls form a pool at their
base ideal for swimming. Stop en route to the falls
for some fantastic snorkeling or swimming.
Hike the Vermont Nature Trail. A walk through the
protected rainforests of this national park. The
well-maintained paths pass through an evergreen
forest and then on to a tropical rain forest. Towering
ferns, 60-foot bamboo stands, and hardwood forests
100 feet overhead are all standard fare on this
extraordinary nature walk. Your guide will point
out all of the exotic and tropical flora and fauna
on the way. The surrounding forests are home to
the rare Vincy Parrot.
Visit the Botanical Gardens the oldest of its kind
in the western hemisphere. The Gardens were founded
in 1763 as a commercial breeding ground for plants
brought from other parts of the world. In fact,
these gardens were Captain Bligh's original destination
when the mutiny on the HMS Bounty delayed his first
scheduled arrival. There is also a small aviary
where you can see the rare St. Vincent parrot.
Visit Montreal Gardens a commercial flower and
tropical plant farm. The gardens contain a wide
range of tropical plants and shaded areas devoted
to Anthurium and red ginger production for cut flowers.
There is a densely planted colour garden and a formal
planted area. Superb views of the coast, plantations
and tropical rain forest are available.
Dive or snorkel at some of the most spectacular
sites in the Caribbean. You will be overwhelmed
by the schools of brightly colored fish, the abundance
of colorful sponges and the number of reef creatures.
The diving around St. Vincent is renowned for the
variety of its marine life. It has become very popular
with both professional and amateur underwater photographers.
Part 2 - Union Island - Tobago Cays
Unwind a little after the activity of the previous
days and relax at Bigsands a modern and comfortable
hotel situated right on the beach on Union Island.
This will be your base as you explore the coral
reefs of the Tobago Cays National Marine Park. Spend
a couple of days relaxing on the beach or enjoying
the selection of watersports available. Take a day
trip to the magnificent Tobago Cays an National
Marine Park. A stunning coral reef teaming with
