Pea Patch Estates
Situated in the hills above Spring Bay, ‘Pea Patch’ (so named because it was originally just that - a place where the people grew peas!) is a large, wood and stone built villa of great architectural credibility and beauty. Built by one of the most talented local architects on the island, Mr. Nolly Simmons in 1981, the house fits into its beautiful Caribbean surroundings with ease. Pea Patch is one minute’s drive or ten minutes walk to the beach at Spring Bay and a five minute drive from the harbour and shopping centre. The house has recently been lovingly restored to its original beauty. It has one acre of landscaped gardens, a herb garden which includes large aloe plants as well as onions and thyme and many herbs, orchard containing lime, grapefruit, plum trees to name a few and woodland. The house is open, spacious and has a beautiful, gentle breeze that keeps a perfect temperature night and day, and boasts 20 foot high rafters in many rooms. A large terrace surrounds the house on three sides and features tasteful garden furniture. Inside is a collection of West Indian arts and crafts, beautiful antique and hand-made Caribbean furniture, mixed with modern facilities. There is a large, tree-lined driveway, leading to the property.

The accommodation comprises a large, built-in kitchen, with washing machine, full size freezer, refrigerator, microwave, gas oven and gas hobs, ideal for family cooking. Alternatively, there is a barbecue for cook-outs in the garden. The lounge and dining room areas are vast and the walls are wood and stone opening onto a breathtaking view of the hills and ocean. It is furnished to a high standard, including a Yamaha piano, stereo and radio, T.V. (with cable channels), antique, velvet Chesterfield sofa and large modern sofa, seating 5 comfortably. Lounge terrace furnished with handmade wicker suite comprising of day bed/chaise longue, high-backed fan-chair and small table, hammock, and on the dining room terrace, a handmade dining table and chairs. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and large dressing- room which can double as an extra bedroom for larger parties. There are a further two double bedrooms and bathroom. Both bathrooms are fully tiled and have full size bath, shower, toilet and bidet, as well as large mirror and vanity basins. All bedrooms have spectacular views of the coconut plantation and the ocean as well as their own private terrace.

The pool at the side of the house has stunning views of the ocean and Spring Bay overlooking a sea of coconut palms. The pool terrace also has an outside barbecue area.

There is a daily gardener/odd-job man and a house-keeper/cleaner and should you require cooking services, this will be available to meet your requirements at a daily rate. Should you require cooking for dinner parties or barbecues, this is also available. The food is typical, delicious West Indian Cuisine and vegetarians are catered for with personal menus. Babysitting and shopping services can be provided at a daily rate. These rates are very reasonable.
